White Halloween…

I was admiring this gorgeous White Halloween feature by Sweet Paul and was planning to link it in Happy thoughts for the weekend but the more time I spent on it, the more I thought…no this is too good, beautiful and inspiring, it deserves its own post! So here it is… And congratulations to Paul whose digital magazine won Best Online Food & Drink Magazine of the Year…it’s well deserved! Happy thoughts for the weekend…

What are you up to this weekend? On Sunday, we’re having a Halloween BBQ at home with friends (remember…I share my live with a New-Zealander so it’s BBQ all year long!). I don’t know how it happened, I started easy on this H thing and suddenly ending up buying costumes for the whole family. Mila & Lucas our dog will be dressed as skeletons, Steve as Werewolf and me as Batgirl…not sure photos will follow…Mila’s friends are coming around in the afternoon to carve some pumpkins to create masterpieces like last year and then we will go around the block for tricks or treats. This week, I Hallo-loved-ween… This photo Viola’s Halloween party these Halloween tiny prints these chalkboard pumpkins and beautiful black feather wreath via PoppyTalk these craft project to make Halloween pencil toppers these useful links from Martha to download pumpkin-carving templates and to carve a pumpkin and this trip to a Pumpkin patch Have a great weekend but stay tuned because there is more fabulous and inspiring Halloween-themed posts today coming up! …

I like this…

Sorry guys, I’m posting this as a memento for myself because my computer is SO slow, I need to throw away some stuff and I want to keep this in mind because I like the look of the storage boxes on the right hand side with the brown labels. I think they sell similar boxes at Ikea. I also love the moody mood board on the left which is quite dramatic with its B&W images. Something like this would be fab for a home office http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Halloween photoshoot sneakpeek

We had so much fun shooting a couple of gorgeous five years old today, trying on over 15 different outfits…skeleton, witch, princess, werewolf and lots of masks, glasses and hats. The girls were fantastic, so fun and imaginative…They were coming up with all sorts of ideas and funny faces…and look how the small size of the STAR t-shirt looks cool on them! http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Therese Sennerholt: Third collection

Talking of my love for fonts and typography yesterday, the email I got last night from Therese sending me images of her third Limited Edition collection, couldn’t have come at a better time…Therese Senneholt is an Award-Winning Sweden freelance Art Director who designs limited edition (and amazing!) graphic prints with quotations and sayings she heard or made up herself. Most of her quotes are positive and strike a chord (of course I have the ‘Things are getting worse please send more chocolate” print at home). I first spotted her work on Lotta’s blog and had butterflies in my belly which from past experience is usually a good sign.Therese draws inspiration from people like Phoebe Philo, Tom Ford and Basquiat and photographers like Peter Lindbergh, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott from VOGUE.The result is a striking, minimalist edgy collection of black and white prints that look simply amazing. We are going to get a few of Therese’s limited edition prints for our little shop. Each print will range from £70 to £95 each and will come …

Design*Sponge: Fonts roundup

It’s not new… I absolutely LOVE fonts and typography. It’s a simple, visual thing which, with all its simplicity, can change the whole look of a room. This why I fell in love with Therese Sennerholt prints which you’ll see in our little shop next month or the one I have at home. I love how fonts can be used to design gorgeous prints of the UK, Australia and New-Zealand, as wall decoration, on food packaging and on this subject, if you haven’t visited Selfridges Food Hall yet, you must go! It’s a visual feast to all the things I love food, design and fonts. So when I saw that the lovely Grace was sharing her favourite fonts, I could not resist relaying them to you here. Expresso Cafe in Manhattan

As per the title of this blog, stating the obvious, this is the interior of the Expresso Cafe in Manhattan designed by Nema Workshop, a team of architects & designers who specialize in creating conceptually innovative spaces and this one, like or not, has a wow factor! And if you fancy doing this at home…you know…turns a normal room sideways and almost feel like in Inception with Leonardo, you can use the new Bookshelf wallpaper by Y & B. Available where?? I hear you saying… Chez nous here! Via Fubiz http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs
