How to dye old fabrics

A couple of Summer ago, I dyed an old sheet in blue grey for our holidays home in France (see pic below). Since then, I have been eager to try different shades of greys and blues so I wanted to share with you this page found in the latest issue of Avantages (will translate the whole thing when I’m back in the office) http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

Styling from Amsterdam Part 2

This is a picture I styled and shot last June in Amsterdam when I stayed with my good friend Desiree from Vosges Paris. We attended Meet The Blogger on Saturday but I spent Friday and Sunday shooting a few images for the BODIE and FOU AW/12 catalogue (you can request a copy here). I love her home very much so it was a real pleasure to imagine a workspace a la BODIE and FOU with some of my favourite things like the Feathers print, and our clip on light which is now back in stock. A Costa Brava home with a view & an amazing bathroom!

I had to show you this home near Caraques in Costa Brava because there were too many things that caught my eye… First the view… How wonderful it must be to wake up every morning to see that kind of scenery – I’m definitively not living in the right country!  I also love the sight of the iconic AA Butterfly chair – which will be very soon available from BODIE and FOU.  I’m loving the concrete kitchen worktop although I’m not much of a fan of the heavy wooden counter with the lights above. You either keep the heavy wooden counter and contrast it with white, contemporary lights like these simple pendant lights by Kathleen Hills I used in our kitchen in France or change the counter for something lighter. However, massive thumb up for the blue tiled bathroom. It is simply beautiful and perfect for the location and I love how they’ve created outdoor corner around each side of the house – perfect! Sneak peek of the BODIE and FOU AW/12 catalogue

I ‘m very excited to share this sneak-peek of our AW BODIE and FOU catalogue* with you today and I really really hope you will love it as much as I do because I can’t tell you the amount of work that goes into it!! Inspired by the success of our Spring/Summer collection, we’ve added this gorgeous linen duvet cover in mustard which will be just perfect for cosy, winter nights in and also lots of industrial lights including the pipe light which is now available with a matt iron finish and a mini collection of copper lights** which is just sublime. To make your Xmas shopping shopping easier (I know crazy to even think about Xmas now), we’ve sourced lots of stylish, unusual and beautiful gifts for all budgets starting with this gorgeous star garland** (as seen on the wall below) and this pretty set of votive candles** which is only £10. We will also have lots of new things for children such as this exclusive graphic monkey print** which I l know, would sit nicely in our mood board …

Such a serene photo…

I love the peace and serenity this shot exudes and this woman with her white hair looks so graceful… It looks like a painting/// The day I manage to style something as beautiful as this, I will be very happy. I have also been dying to get a skull like this since I saw one in the kitchen of this gorgeous home in Amsterdam – which is pretty much my ‘masterplan’ kitchen. I keep asking if Steve’s dad in New-Zealand can find one on his farm but as he has now retired, it is very unlikely that one of the few cows he kept. is going to drop-dead just so that I can have her skull so if you know where I could source some, by all means please let me know.

What a beautiful wedding…

I‘m sorry…the first part of my post may not be what you were expected from the title but it’s the only thing I have been thinking about since last night…I found a cyste in my breast last night when I went to bed. It is probably nothing but I have an appointment at the GP on Thursday just to check it out. I have to admit that I’m freaking out a little bit but will see. Let’s keep focusing on positive things…On a more light-hearted note, I’m in love with this beautiful video shot by Geoff Boothby for the James & Aubrey’s wedding. The song is Blood by The Middle East and I have been listening to it all day.James, the bride is the blogger behind Bluebird where you can see more of these gorgeous photos but what a cool name!! If I have another girl I will call her James or Joe like Charlotte Have a great day! xoxo Via Un Beau Jour J‘ai senti comme un kyste hier soir dans mon sein, ce n’est probablement rien mais au cas …
