6-week beginner running plan

As promised to myself, as soon as I arrived in New-Zealand, I started the good habits again: drinking 1.5 lt of water/day, eat more fruits and vegetables, avoid eating gluten and start running again. Each day I run I feel excited, hopeful and scared at the same time….Excited to run again and doing something positive for my well-being, hopeful that soon I will feel better and scared that I will feel as down as I felt last November when I got hit by depression but at the same time, I know that if I keep eating healthily and work out regularly, I will be fine.My sister sent me this running plan for beginners that is really good. It’s for beginners and although I used to run 10K a while back, I haven’t run for over 12 months so rather than going for a 20 min run straight away and ache, I decided to do it gently. Each day I run, I feel great. The plan is in French so I’ve translated it for you. It’s normally over 6 …

Last post….

This is my last post for the year….for the next three weeks and maybe more.A month ago, I wanted to give up everything…BODIE and FOU, the blog, trying for a baby, trying for so many things, now I just think f**k it. I just want a break, go to the beach, eat healthily, sleep, feel fit again and be with the people I love. {The F**k it therapy} Last year when Mila and I flew to France to say goodbye to my grand-mother before she passed away, I read an article about the “F**k It therapy” in Grazia and how liberating it felt to say f**k it. It made me laugh but it was true…it does feel good to say F**K IT loud and clear. While in France by her side, I taught one of my aunts to say it and we had a good laugh despite the sad circumstances that brought us together. It felt good because it’s like saying no to the things/people who spoil your life. It feels good because it’s like making a …

Kate Barry

I was half-kidding a couple of days that you don’t need to watch the news to find out what happens in the world, each time someone dies, my Facebook wall is filled by R.I.P. posts and this morning sadly, it was about Kate Barry.I loved her, in fact I love her whole family and I think it was one of these ‘famous’ family of artists who was very much loved because they were naturally ‘cool’, very talented and beautiful. I grew up listening to Serge Gainsbourg and naturally came to love the rest of his family. Jane was/still is a style icon, a sexy tomboy who numerous girls seek to emulate. I didn’t have the skinny, tall figure but I’ve always loved her style, a cool attitude and then there was Charlotte, a couple years younger than me and three years older than Elodie. Charlotte, like Vanessa Paradis were and still are my favourite style icons. I love the women they became and the artistic choices they made.Kate chose to build her life behind the …

We all need a “Feel Good” throw in our lives….

I think one of the things I enjoy the most during winter time is staying at home and watch a movie with my little family, curling up on the sofa.Mostly because I don’t like Winter or rather Winter is not great for me.I suffer from S.A.D. and this Winter has been especially bad.Steve bought me a special light for S.A.D. on amazon a few years back which I really recommend if you suffer from it like me.Other things that I do to fight off this flipping thing is go out early at weekends to see an exhibition, brunch with friends or go for a bike ride by the river like we did last Sunday.Even if you don’t feel like it, light exercise, spend some time with friends and family and just going out of your home, is the best thing you can do for yourself. We have a few family traditions between us three and one of them is to watch a family movie together late Sunday afternoon. We will start watching something at 5pm with …

VIPP Christmas styling competition

Last week, I was invited to Copenhagen to visit Vipp flagship store (which is beautifully designed) and to participate in a food styling competition with various bloggers from all around Europe.Sadly I dropped my phone in the morning of the event so I couldn’t share a lot of things on Instagram which is a real shame because there were so many cool things to show you.I teamed up with Nina from Stylizimo, Indre from M i M a, Annett from 101Woonideeën and Laura from The Sweetspot. It was hugely fun and very well organised. I found food styling quite tricky as you have to be fast and work out in advance what atmosphere you want to create.Personally I prefer creating stories with objects and eat the food but I really enjoyed the experience. Each of the three teams had five dishes to style with products from Vipp and from other Danish brands. All the images on this post are the styling our team did, which was then photographed by Anders HviidOnce we’re done, we put three gorgeous long tables together …
