Life with Mila…never boring, always happy

I think/hope her bedroom (our loft conversion) will be finished this week.We had to do some photos over the weekend for Real Living Australia magazine and here are a few I took of Mila with my iphone when we were done. It’s a bit grainy but I love them. She has so much happy energy… Sharing is caring ❤️ Leave a comment and let’s have a chat… http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs

K Desk by Rafa-Kids

As our loft conversion is nearly finished (I think our beautiful floorboards are being laid and the walls painted next week ), I’m really excited to start thinking how I’m going to decorate Mila‘s room. Once thing that I’m really looking forward to add to her new room, is this gorgeous K Desk by Rafa-Kids. I think it will look stunning on the black floorboards. It’s a beautiful, simple design, the way I like things and I know she will love using masking tapes to create hew own little moodboard. The minx is growing fast. This afternoon alone, she organised her own playdate with her friend and got Linda, our au-pair (who I took to Bikram yoga yesterday at 6.30am and almost died on the spot ;-) to call us to let us know. A part of me is proud of the independent person she is. At the end of the day, that’s what the kiwi and I tried to instill in her these past few years, yet I can’t help wondering if she does this at 9, what on …

BATHROOMS WITH A VIEW

Steve’s uncle used to have a beautiful Architect house in Hahei (New-Zealand), which had a bathroom with a large bay window overlooking a beautiful private garden and a glass roof which gave you the feeling of showering in the middle of nature. Since then, I’ve always dreamt of having a bathroom with a view. I think being able to shower under the sky is pretty magical, don’t you think? However we live in London and the space we had to play in our loft conversion, was far from being as spacious as these inspiring bathrooms.Yet, with 11 sq meters to play with, we managed to create an en-suite bathroom filled with natural light and large windows to look at the sky, which I will show you when it’s finished.>> Check hashtag #bodieandfourenovations on InstagramUntil then, here are 4 of my favourite bathrooms with a view… The white, minimalist, contemporary bathroom above is by far, my favourite design and space permitting, I would love to have a walk-in shower like this. However, there are two things to bear in mind: 1) A …

OUR HOME IN FRANCE IN BOLIGDROM

I’m very excited to have our holidays home in France featured in Norwegian magazine Boligdrom and I can’t wait to go back. By the sound of it, it looks like we are heading off there in a few weeks to vacate our London home during the renovations. Since these photos were taken a few years ago, I’ve changed a few things around our house and updated the blue moodboard in my kitchen cupboard  >> Read 3 ways to create an inspiring cupboard for your kitchen. I’ve also made a feature out of our straw hats in the hallyway (read the feature in Côté Ouest magazine here to see what it looks like) and added several of our new prints in the lounge and one of the bedroom. The bone china pendant lights in my kitchen are from BODIE and FOU and if anyone is interested, I think I’m going to sell the beautiful stainless-steel Bugatti coffee-maker featured in the photo above. It is in very good condition as we havent used it a lot and it’s also why I want …

The AA Butterfly chair (aka BKF chair)

One of my favourite piece of design, is the iconic and legendary AA Butterfly chair (aka the BFK chair). It is beautifully designed, simple, minimal but also very comfortable. Sadly there is a lot of copies available and at the end of the day, it is a matter of personal choice and budget. I’m not passing judgment :-) but personally, when it comes to design, I’d rather wait until I can afford the real deal or source a vintage one. This one is a re-edition in full respect of the spirit and quality of the original 1938 model. The AA Butterfly chair was originally designed in 1938 by Jorge Ferrari-Hardoy, Antonio Bonet and Juan  Kurchan. Three young Designers who worked with the pioneer of modern architecture: Le Corbusier, in the thirties. After they went back to Buenos Aires, they formed the “Grupo Austral” and in 1938, created the now famous 197 model that became broadly known as the Butterfly or BFK chair and has been part of the permanent collection at the MoMa Museum in New-York since …

We have two very special prints in our collection…The Cactus print and the Plumes print which we styled in my home in London. 1. Industrial Clothes rail | 2. Milk Table lamp 1. Notebook | 2. Wooden stool  They are very special to us because they are the work of our very own Polly, who is BODIE and FOU PR& Marketing Assistant but also a talented Textiles Designer (check her portfolio here).I think they are gorgeous!Polly initially designed them in colours but I’ve asked her to do a monochrome version for us and I think they came out beautifully! What do you think? Which one do you love the most?
