HUSH HOMEWEAR: AW 2014 COLLECTION

Last June, I attended the launch of the Hush Homewear AW 2014 Collection and gosh did I love what I saw! I think Hush is getting better and better. The SS/2014 was fab but their Winter collection is gorgeous! So here is a selection of my favourite pieces… 1/ DRESSES I’m totally in love with the Scoop dress. In fact, her hair, the dress, these boots…are pretty much rock chic perfection and one that I will definitively rock’ on this winter. My other favourite one is the quilted dress. I don’t think the pictures do any justice to this dress, but it’s a fantastic, feminine and sexy piece. The drop waist is very flattering and as it’s quite short, worn with heels, it makes your legs look longer. It comes in ecru, aubergine and black and the aubergine is di-vi-ne. Mandy, Founder of Hush, was wearing it with ankle boots at the launch and she looked fab. If you have toned arms, go for the quilted sleeveless dress. If you don’t have toned arms yet,  check out …

5 SLEEK, MODERN BATHROOMS & MIRRORS

Now that our loft conversion is finished and I found this very cool bathroom mirror, I’m tackling our master bathroom, which is going to be white, minimalist with a resin floor. For the basin, I’ve ordered a beautiful basin designed by Antonio Lupi similar to this one. Taps: I’m looking at Vola or the taps designed by Antonio Lupi (subject to costs)Bathroom mirror:  I haven’t yet decided but the Pebble Grey bathroom mirrors may well do the trick as they have an interesting collection of cabinet mirrors. I just need to work out if our bathroom mirror can be fitted into the wall rather than wall-mounted as Elisabeth did for her bathroom.Door onto the balcony: I think Steve is looking at something like this on a smaller scale. In the meantime, here are a few looks I really love…I really like the design of this wall-mounted storage unit that combines style and practicality. It’s a feature in itself and looks fabulous and striking. If you are after an industrial feel, check out this wall-mounted clothes rack that would great against …

5 inspiring white workspaces

Our renovations are still going smoothly… What used to be a terrace on the 2nd floor that nobody used, has now been converted into a light, airy contemporary home office and like the loft conversion, I think it’s going to be an amazing room filled with natural light. The room is being plastered today except this small brick wall which I managed to save and we are putting floorboards to be painted in white. Considering the scale of the project, I’m still amazed by how everything is running smoothly… Major credits to the kiwi who, not only does an amazing job, project managing the whole thing (check hashtag bodieandfourenovations on Instagram) but also to the amazing builders we have on site. I will happily share their details at the end of the project. I feel very lucky and grateful. It’s our third renovation work and we worked with “cowboys” in the past which made the whole thing a lot more stressful! So yes the house is a major building site, out of 3 floors, only one room is habitable but …

The perfect mirror..

Our loft conversion with en-suite bathroom is almost finished (give ot take a door & radiators to install). You can see some photos I posted here and here before going on holidays or search for hashtag bodieandfourenovations on Instagram to see the whole project. The whole house is a building site and Steve and I are literally camping in this new room (LOVE the view!) but I think, we are managing the disruptions pretty well.We have the basics covered! We can shower (LOVE the new shower & our tiles) and we’ve added a mini fridge in one corner so I can carry on doing smoothies for my healthy challenge. One thing that has bugged me since the beginning of this project was finding a cool, nice mirror.I wanted something a bit more special than a straight rectangular one and I’ve finally found the one I want which will also be part of our AW/2014 collection. What do you think? I think it has a very cool, Scandi design and the shelf below will be just perfect to display my favourite cosmetics. …
