I had this photo in my Pinterest for years and it was really what inspired to put an option on my dad’s old work bench years ago before Elodie does :-)
While my work bench has nothing to do with the white one above, it is often how inspiration works for me. An image, some styling strike a chord, create an emotion and they become something different afterwards.
Jacqueline Morabito has always been my design icon and the one who inspired me to start BODIE and FOU. I had the chance to spend some time with her in 2010 and she is a lovely lady….like her signature style, she was dressed all in white, her office was all white and so was a dog :-)
In this space, I really love the mix of B&W photo and illustrations and how the wood of the old furniture contrasts with the peaceful, clutter-free interiors. The two chairs at the front are the Fanett chairs designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1949. This rattan chair is similar to the one above.
