Me: “For your birthday, we can have a girls day and go shopping if you want” Mila: ” oh great! Can it be unlimited credit?” Me: “errm non….” Mila turned 11 a a couple of weeks ago. As we were staying with some friends near Cap-Breton, we went shopping in Hossegor. I’m sure if you are mums of pre-teens you’re going through the same thing than me but the days of having fun buying clothes for my daughter are **OVER**! I used to be able to buy her and most importantly dress her, in gorgeous Liberty print dresses and blouses with smocks but now the sole mention of a dress and she looks at me in disbelief if I was completely mad. I’m not mad, I keep hoping that she will change her mind :-)))) Saying that, we found a middle ground… Last Summer, we had paid a visit to a shop in Hossegor (forgot the name sorry!) where the lady was a bit pushy but she had a great selection of my favourite brands Finger in the Nose, …
I’m starting a new Thursday feature called DETAILS dedicated to Interior Details. I don’t know about you but quite often, when I spend time on Pinterest, it’s very much one specific detail in an image that inspires me and leads me to click and discover a pretty cool home, a new Architecture Studio or a Designer. This gorgeous patio painted in pink did exactly that last year. So today, my first share is this white outdoor staircase which is part of a house in Hammamet, Tunisia renovated by SEPTEMBRE, a collective of French Architects from different backgrounds with complementary skills in architecture, urban planning, urban programming and interior design. This alone makes me want to go to Tunisia… // Photography: Sophia Baraket
I’m a firm believer that it’s never too late to start anything you want in life. You can start over, each morning and do whatever you want. I don’t define myself or what I want to do by my age. I think it is how you feel in your own skin that matters…You can be a fit, healthy chick in your fifties and a couch potato in your twenties. You can be a cancer or depression survivor and then turn your life around in a matter of months. My friend Vicky is the former and she is now a kick-ass fitness instructor in Gloucerstershire who is impacting positively on the lives of many women. I even got inspired to start running again just by seeing her regular posts on Facebook. Being comfortable with my age, wrinkles and fine lines is one of my great achievements. Yes, sometimes my skin is dry, some nights I drink too much, don’t sleep enough and look like hell but generally speaking, I’m OK with who I am and I credit this mostly to what I eat (hint, hint) and the lifestyle …

Aren’t you getting excited by the upcoming nice weather, evenings drinking prosecco with friends and weekends at the beach? Oh yeah! I’m SO ready! I’m off to Barcelona next Friday and I’m hoping my new swimsuit will arrive on time! In the meantime, here are my favourite things this week, enjoy!
Last weekend in Hossegor*, my friend Olivia and I stumbled across Collective Soul and what a little gem it was! Let me show you a few pictures I took with my iPhone because I loved everything about this shop… Decoration, fashion, vintage, upcycling, workshops, this atelier showroom ticks all the boxes and is one address you definitively want to bookmark if you’re planning a little trip near Hossegor and Cap-Breton.
It’s not secret that I love plywood. These 12 inspiring kitchens are proofs that beautiful things could be achieved with this inexpensive material and I really like how Steve’s office turned out in the tree house with plywood walls. This photo caught my eye because I thought using a piece of plywood was a great and inexpensive little creative project. What do you think? Do you love plywood or hate it? //Photography: Anders Bergstedt
We are off near Cap-Breton to stay with some friends and I’m very excited to spend the weekend with people I love and to spend more time in this area which is the next best thing after the Bay of Arcachon ;-) so here is another nice outfit for a sunny weekend!
