TODAY I LOVE…

Sunday mood...

Sunday mood...I’m so sorry! I got completely sidetracked this morning.

I was meant to do my weekly 5 Things I want right now! but I started watching a very interesting documentary by Cash Investigation that was broadcasted on France 2 recently. The subject of the documentary had been all over my friends’ Facebook page in France and I was really keen to watch it because healthy food and well-being is something I’m really interested in.

It was questioning why ham is so pink in supermarket when in fact cooked ham should be more white/greyish like a slice of cooked pork. Why manufacturers feel the need to add nitrate salt (E250) to make the ham look pinkier when nitrate salt has been linked to being the cause of cancer? How lobby put pressure on government? And so many other questions that were scary but interesting at the same time.

I don’t know if copyright issues will let you watch it outside of France but here is the youtube link in case.

And then this afternoon, I surfed under the rain and it was just awesome! I was in the water with a seagull 2 meters away from me and I was thinking how cool it would be to have an eye that can take pictures to shoot all the amazing things our eyes can see.

The colour of the ocean was amazing. Perfect setting for People from the sea
Tomorrow we are going to watch a surf competition so hopefully, I will be able to take some pictures.

In the meantime, here is a TODAY I LOVE… for you because it’s the weekend, the beginning of Autumn and you and I love ceramics :-)

  1. OH that’s so horrible about the ham :(

I was walking past the park the other night, the sun was going down, it was so warm and beautiful and I kept reaching for my phone to take photographs. But sometimes it’s nice just to have the memory I guess, also I’m rubbish at photographing in half light ;)

  2. Oh I’m so jealous of your regular surf trips – we will move closer to the altlantc coast (one day)! In terms of the ham I think avoiding processed food is the only way you can really know what you’re putting into your body… it’s shocking and horrible but true!
