On my travel wish-list…Copenhagen

March 1, 2013

I’m very excited and grateful to be invited to Copenhagen by one of my favourite brands: Normann Copenhagen to visit their flagship store and view the new collection.
I’ll be there in about 2 weeks between the Meet The Blogger London weekend and Decor8 Meet the Bloggers while we finish styling & shooting our SS/2013 catalogue so March is going to be crazy busy…
Last time I was there in 2008 (also invited by Normann), I had an amazing time. Copenhagen is small but beautiful and has lots of gorgeous shops. I’ll be there working on Thursday & Friday and Steve & Mila will join me for the weekend.
As a lot of you enjoyed my “On my travel wish-list…Bruxelles”, here is my wish-list for Copenhagen:

Inspiring, family homes to stay | COPENHAGEN

May 27, 2014

Denmark has such an incredible legacy when it comes to mid-century classic design with the likes of Hans J. Wegner, Arne Jacobsen, Georg Jensen to name a few, that it’s almost impossible not to find a beautiful, place to stay and here are two of my favourite inspiring and family-friendly places to stay.

The Christian Ixth Residence

Located in Copenhagen’s old town, the Christian Ixth Residence is great for two adults, 2 children and a baby. It’s in the centre of town (Indre By as they say) and walking distance from all the shops and museums (except Louisiana which you must visit). It has gorgeous floorboards, lots of natural light and I think these large butterfly paintings by Hong Kong artist Simon Birch are stunning.

This one is out of town in Valby but since Copenhagen is a small city, it doesn’t really matter if you’re not staying in the centre of town (Indre By). By tube, most journey will take you 8-12 min and 20-30 min to the airport and most owners lend some bikes to so you can experience a proper Danish lifestyle for a few days. The Steenbergsvej Residence is a beautiful house running on fourth floor and if you’re lucky enough to have the same amazing weather I had last week, you will love hanging out in the garden too.

March 29, 2011

While tidying up my corner in the office, I came across a receipt from Fil de Fer, a gorgeous shop I visited last time I went to Copenhagen and thinking of it, I can’t thank enough my Danish Friend Charlotte for taking me around Copenhagen’s most gorgeous shops. I had the most wonderful weekend there. Copenhagen is small but I loved it!

Fil de Fer (which is run by a French guy) was like a little corner of heaven and if I didn’t have to fly back to London, I would have left with a lot more vintage treasures, especially one of their gorgeous French vintage chandeliers, or maybe a gorgeous industrial locker….the shop is filled with stunning, sought-after French vintage pieces hand-picked by the owner and if you’re planning to go to Copenhagen in the near future, I can’t recommend you enough to go and visit this wonderful place.

Fil de Fer, Store Kongensgade 83 A, 1264 Købehavn K, Tel: 33 32 32 46

Another shop I enjoyed browsing was Atelier September, that specializes in Danish antiques.

POP-UP STORE NEWS & A ROYAL VISIT | COPENHAGEN

May 18, 2014

The BODIE and FOU pop-up store at Vipp flagship store opened its doors on Saturday and started on a high, with the visit of her H.R.H. Princess Marie of Denmark purchasing our Limited Edition BODIE and FOU Vipp15 bin
It’s pretty amazing, isn’t it?!

Yes I did ask her if I could take a photo of her with our bin (if you don’t ask, you don’t get) and she very nicely declined :-)

There is only a couple of bins left in the shop which you can reserve but they will only be available for collection from the Vipp flagship store at the end of the pop-up store and Vipp has now starting a waiting list! You can can also pre-order it online here.
I’m really excited by Monday…
We have an official press launch and a styling blogger competition like the one I attended at Vipp last December which is going to be really good fun. This time, teams of bloggers will need to style a kitchen, bathroom and table using products from Vipp, BODIE and FOU and from local designers. Make sure you use hashtag #bodieandfouvipp to connect with us.
And if you are in Copenhagen on Tuesday, make sure you register to the very inspiring mood board workshop run by Design Pill from 1 to pm.
Mia Crespo will show you how to organise images and the emotions connected to them in a visual and creative (please bring a few of your favourite interior magazines to cut them). To book, please email [email protected]

Last but not least, I also would like to thank all the amazing posts we had so far from the most inspiring blogs including:
I hope I haven’t missed anyone but if I have, by all means let me know so I can tag you via social media.

Today is another beautiful day…My mum and sister Elodie arrived yesterday so we are going to for an hour power walk on the beach, rent some bikes to go around Copenhagen and have diner at the fab Höst.
Have a great Sunday
