BODIE AND FOU NEW SS/14 | THE WHITE COLLECTION

I can’t say if WHITE & BLISS is my favourite collection out of all the beautiful mini collections we put together for our SS/2014 collection but it is definitively the one that makes me feel the most peaceful and calm so here are my favourite pieces for a blissful Summer… 1/ This Beaded chandelierShot last week in my home, it is an extraordinary piece of design. In fact, it is very similar to the chandelier seen in this beautiful family warehouse in Amsterdam but a lot more affordable as this one is made of wooden beads and not clay. Still, it is a very striking and gorgeous piece! 2/ These beautiful white cast iron candlesticks These are the kind of candlesticks I use in our home in France. They are inexpensive but they really look great and add a very nice French touch to a table. I selected three different sizes ans shapes for you because I think they look much more interesting when mixed together and they are great for an extended dinner party alfresco. 3/ These white ceramic bowls Smooth, tactile, …

We all need a “Feel Good” throw in our lives….

I think one of the things I enjoy the most during winter time is staying at home and watch a movie with my little family, curling up on the sofa.Mostly because I don’t like Winter or rather Winter is not great for me.I suffer from S.A.D. and this Winter has been especially bad.Steve bought me a special light for S.A.D. on amazon a few years back which I really recommend if you suffer from it like me.Other things that I do to fight off this flipping thing is go out early at weekends to see an exhibition, brunch with friends or go for a bike ride by the river like we did last Sunday.Even if you don’t feel like it, light exercise, spend some time with friends and family and just going out of your home, is the best thing you can do for yourself. We have a few family traditions between us three and one of them is to watch a family movie together late Sunday afternoon. We will start watching something at 5pm with …

Dreaming of a grey sofa for our holidays home in France….

As much as I love our Ghost sofa by Paola Navone in London, a white sofa would definitively not have been practical for our holidays home in France (you can see more photos here).  The house caters for 8 people but has often a tribe of young children running around, entering the house from our side to another, spreading sand from the beach to eventually collapse on our large sofa in front of the TV.As I did not intend to have a nervous breakdown each time we were there, I deliberately kept the interior design of the house simple and low maintenance when I re-decorated the house a few years ago.Failing to find an affordable, contemporary designer sofa in grey which was my first choice (and under pressure from the CFO of the house to stick to our budget), I went for a large, modulable dark brown sofa from the Swedish giant – which is ok and comfortable but looking at these inspiring interiors in hues of greys, whites and wood, I really wish I could change our sofa to a grey one now. Anyone …

{White Styling} from the weekend….

On Sunday, our photographer Francois and I shot the BODIE and FOU White Christmas collection* in a gorgeous family home in West London (big thanks to Greg & Amanda for their wonderful welcome).Steve went for a bike ride with his friend so I took Mila with us on the shoot and well, now that she is 7, she no longer can be bothered to model for me so all I get now is her feet…but here is a sneak-peek of what’s coming…I’m so in love with everything…The tealight holders are made of bone china with a matte finish and come with a STAR or HEART design. They are gorgeous and very stylish (£13 each).I use stars a lot to decorate our home so I’m a huge fan of this beautiful decorative star (only £15) and this little polar bear family (£28 for a set of Papa Bear and Baby bear) is just a-do-rable and will look perfect in a nursery or kids bedroom. The paper Christmas decorations come in set of 3 and you get a …

Inspiring Elle Interior Norway

When I was young, our dad used to tell Elodie and I that our family name ‘Köng‘ (to be pronounced Kung) came from Norway…Apparently our great, great grand father was a sailor who settled down in Norway and started a family, blablabla and years later you ended up with me!Then when I was 16, he turned around and said that after all our surname might have come from Switzerland! Erm… no offence to the Swiss (I love the Swiss especially her) but between having Vikings as ancestors or being Swiss, I just felt that I had more Viking spirit in my blood than Swiss so I stick to my Viking story…Anyway, I doubt it’s why I love so much Elle Interior Norway but I do! I love this mag and their Xmas issue looks just amazing!PS: And I’ve just found out this morning that they also featured my favourite bag: La Tropezienne tote bag by Clare Vivier…so happy Quand j’etais jeune, mon pere nous racontait a Elodie et moi que notre nom de famille ‘Köng‘ …
