Summer update

Summer update

A sure sign that it’s time for a change is when nothing fires me up enough to write and share on this blog. A blog which I have now curated for 10 years. So while in Bali, I worked on the re-branding. The idea of a magazine format has always appealed to me. After ten years, they are a lot of things that interest me and not just home decoration. I’m just as passionate about interiors as I’m about fashion, well-being, ageing gracefully, travelling, dealing with grief…you know all these things you want to share about life because they are meaningful and not just the latest pendant light or vase to have. So  while the girls were jumping in the pool, I spent lots of time working and trying to figure out how to re-brand the BODIE and FOU blog. I think I have now find a design that fits the effortless, simple and minimalist interiors I like to share but which will also allow me to share with you more articles on fashion, well-being, surfing and …

30 days to minimal blogging

30 days to minimal blogging

A couple of years ago, I ended up in a rut blogging wise. Nothing I was writing inspired me and if I couldn’t inspire myself, how could I inspire others… No matter how beautiful the content was, it just didn’t work and then I realised that after nine years of blogging, I had changed as a person and the layout and design of the blog didn’t fit any longer who I was and what I wanted to pass on creatively to others. Does this sound familiar? Here comes Ana Degenaar …

5 tips to curate your Pinterest

Here is my first exciting 2016 new project + a Pinterest tutorial for you with 5 useful tips you need to implement right now… Do you remember last year I said I would be working on new creative projects this year!? This is it! Following 10 years of experience, building and raising international awareness on the BODIE and FOU brand, organising brand collaborations with iconic brands like Vipp, The Simple Things magazine in the UK and France and as a Social Media Expert at the Airbnb Conference, I have been working these past few months, on a series of social media and styling workshops. These workshops will be designed to help independent concept stores and small Designers to achieve organic growth, to gain PR in national and international magazines below and above-the-line like we did for BODIE and FOU, to increase brand awareness, sales and to help you to find your voice through a series of social media and styling workshops so you can connect with your customers. The first workshops will take place in France and London from …

Design bloggers united dinner | Amsterdam

Last Friday I attended a dinner in Amsterdam, organised by friends who are behind Design Bloggers United and it was just perfection. From the choice of the venue at Pistache to the catering by Lady Grey catering and the styling of our table with blue tableware from French company Pillyvuyt, everything was just perfect and I had a really great time. I absolutely loved the venue! My first reaction when I was walked in was the same when I first spotted the glass panel in our new kitchen…WOW…so cool and airy, the kind of place you wish you could move into. The overall feel of the room was amazing but the organisation was just ace. They had planned everything to the perfection. We had drinks from V2C Gin, a Dutch company that makes 100% organic gin and I tried the oaked gin which was very nice. I wish now, I had brought back a bottle for Steve. I absolutely loved the soft, industrial feel of the venue and look at this fab open-plan kitchen… One of the best …

Styling masterclass with Anouk B | Joyeuse Clique

20 bloggers… 5 nationalities… 2 days in Pernes-Les-Fontaines… 1 concept store as a playground = First blogger session organised by Joyeuse Clique at La Maison Pernoise which was just brilliant and definitively the best blogger meeting I’ve attended. The styling workshop was run by Anouk B who I absolutely adore but working, sleeping with her (we shared a bedroom) and talking with her about branding, styling, life etc… took my love for her to the next level (and dont get me started on her jumpsuit!) SLOW DESIGN | SLOW FOODING Developed around the aesthetics of the beautiful KINFOLK diners, our task on day one, was to style a table for the 50 guests coming for diner in the evening. I’m not sure if my photos are a credit to the final result but it was beautiful and so was the food prepared by Mistral Gagnant Food Truck. TRENDS STYLING Day 2: Anouk talked us through the various trends for 2014/2015 and then we have to pick one theme to style. I chose African Indigo…You can see …

Last post….

This is my last post for the year….for the next three weeks and maybe more.A month ago, I wanted to give up everything…BODIE and FOU, the blog, trying for a baby, trying for so many things, now I just think f**k it. I just want a break, go to the beach, eat healthily, sleep, feel fit again and be with the people I love. {The F**k it therapy} Last year when Mila and I flew to France to say goodbye to my grand-mother before she passed away, I read an article about the “F**k It therapy” in Grazia and how liberating it felt to say f**k it. It made me laugh but it was true…it does feel good to say F**K IT loud and clear. While in France by her side, I taught one of my aunts to say it and we had a good laugh despite the sad circumstances that brought us together. It felt good because it’s like saying no to the things/people who spoil your life. It feels good because it’s like making a …
