In As You Like Magazine

I hope you’re having a nice weekend so far. Mine started nicely with a power walk listening to Louise Hay (has any of you started listening to her!? If you have, please let me know what you think) and then I took Mila to the gym so she could practice for her competition in a couple of weeks. When we came back home, there was a copy of As You Like magazine with 6 pages dedicated to our home in London and a profile about me. I’m so excited! I know I had press coverage in the past but that kind of things never gets old, believe me! As You Like magazine is a women’s magazine dedicated to the new e-generation and regularly draws profiles of Digital Influencers, Bloggers, Vloggers etc….I mean, how far have we all come as a profession to have a magazine just dedicated to all the inspiring people we find online, it’s incredible and it gives me so much hope for the next generation of women, our girls, to create something …

My interview in Baby & Me Exclusive magazine

I’m very excited (non non jury service doesn’t rock my boat) but I was interviewed recently by the fabulous BABY & ME Exclusive magazine and the interview is out now. I love that they used this photo of the Pigmee doll, Mila is holding against her washed linen apron….two of my favourite items this season! And Elodie and I really need to have new photos of us together taken! The B&W one the magazine used is from the Grand Designs magazine photoshoot in 2008. And it seems that it is the week for all the interviews I answered recently to all come out at the same time so you will also find an interview on The Good Web Guide.

Columbia Road Flower market

Last month, I mentioned a photoshoot in Columbia Road Flower market for a feature Time Out was doing on creative people shopping at London’s best street markets. The article came out yesterday so I picked up a copy on my way to a business meeting and ending up smiling like an idiot in the train stopping myself from saying to complete strangers in the tube “Look! c’est moi la… on the page!”… A big thank you to the lovely Maggie, Shopping & Style Editor at Time Out who is also behind Chic Little Baby. Here is the article and below a few photos I took at Campania. Yours, Karine, Design Expert (so they say :-) ★★★★ For botanists Columbia Road Flower Market Our market insider: Karine Candice Kong, design expert (I swear I didn’t tell them to put this but I LIKE it!)When should you visit Columbia Road Flower Market? “The Market starts at 8am every Sunday and it’s best to get there as early as possible. Our French house in Junior magazine…

Excitement is running high this morning in the B&F office! We’ve just received the June issue of Junior magazine and here it was… three pages on our house in France with lovely pictures of Mila Sienna and Lily. A big thank you to everybody at Junior magazine, the wonderful Ruth Corbett for writing just a lovely article about us and being so generous and Alun Callender for his beautiful pictures. As it happens, we just came back from our annual get-together in the house which this year was very special because we are now all living around Europe: Elodie & Christophe are in Barcelona, Alexia & Nicolas in Bruxelles, Val & Chris in Paris and us in London so it was really cool to spend a few days together. This time, there was 22 of us, 3 children, 2 babies and a dog. I thought I would impress everyone with my vodka jelly, a recipe I got from my friend Verity in New-Zealand but Christophe beat me to it with his mojitos but once again …

Awesome review in Shortlist

Today we had another fantastic review on our best-selling Cognac glasses in Shortlist magazine (they also feature the very good-looking Jose Mourinho on the front cover) so a big thank to the Editorial team there… Here is what they wrote: Cognac glass revolutionisedStunning Danish glassware looks set to raise the number of hard liquor drinkers. Cognac: it’s a man drink. Not only has it graced the dinner tables of gentlemen and sworthy soldiers alike, it’s the most refined way to finish off a hearty meal. The French do it and let’s face it, they’re never wrong when it comes to food. Yet with this most noble of drinks, a plastic beaker just will not do and that’s where Danish designer Rikke Hagen’s work comes in. Hagen scrapped the traditional stem as it was ‘irrating’ her, and created the vessels to enhance a drink’s colour, temperature, movement and bouquet. They also nestle in your hand in a pleasing manner – and look brilliant, which make them a must-have in our book.£27.50 for a set of 2 …

Nice review in the Saturday Telegraph

We have a great review today in David Nicholls’s Design notebook in The Telegraph magazine… BODIE and FOUThere is a lovely balance of styles and products on this site, which was set up by the sisters Elodie and Karine Kong three years ago. For pretty and decorative, there is lighting by Flavia del Pra, whose ceramic lamps sells for about £300. Quirky kitchenlia comes from the Danish brand Normann Copenhagen: shown here is the stainless-steel Familia casserole with lid by Ole Jensen (£169.50) and the oak and melamine salad set (£24). There is also sleek and modern in the shape of Reno Bonzo’s Gaivota rocking chair (£832). A nice added touch is the ‘Portrait of a designer‘ tab, which introduces some of the names that appear on the site, including the ceramicist Polly George and the lighting designer Birgit Ostergaard (0845 120 4648, www.bodieandfou.com) http://feeds.feedburner.com/blogspot/UxVs
